BANDAR LAMPUNG – Memeriahkan HUT ke-341 Kota Bandar Lampung, Pemerintah Kota menggelar ‘Kejuaraan Renang Antar Pelajar dan Antar Perkumpulan Se-Sumatra Walikota Cup I 2023’, di Kolam Renang Pahoman, Bandar Lampung, pada 23-25 Juni 2023.
Kegiatan Lomba Tingkat Nasional itu diikuti sebanyak 828 peserta, terdiri dari kategori atlet sebanyak 311 orang dan kategori fun swimming 659 orang.
“Jumlah peserta Kejuaraan Renang Walikota Cup I 2023 merupakan yang terbanyak sepanjang penyelenggaraan kejuaraan renang beberapa tahun terakhir di Lampung,” ujar Ketua Panitia Penyelenggara, Ardiansyah, yang merupakan Ketua Pewarta Foto Indonesia (PFI) Lampung.
Tidak hanya itu, mengingat peserta yang cukup banyak, baik dari Lampung maupun luar Lampung, Adi meyakini perhelatan ini akan memberikan dampak positif terhadap perekonomian Kota Bandar Lampung.
“Hotel-hotel di sekitar area Kolam Renang Pahoman dipastikan akan terisi oleh para atlet, pelatih, dan orang tua atlet. Begitu juga restoran, toko oleh-oleh, dan UMKM sekitar akan mendapatkan penjualan lebih,” ungkapnya.
Kejuaraan renang kali ini sedikit berbeda, karena digagas oleh Serikat Media Siber Indonesia (SMSI) Bandar Lampung, Pewarta Foto Indonesia (PFI) Lampung, bekerjasama dengan Persatuan Renang Seluruh Indonesia (PRSI) Bandar Lampung.
“SMSI dan PFI ingin turut serta memeriahkah hari jadi Kota Bandar Lampung sekaligus berpartisipasi dalam pembinaan generasi muda, terutama di bidang olahraga renang,” ungkap Adi.
Ketua PRSI Kota Bandar Lampung, Sumarwan memberikan apresiasi atas terselenggaranya kompetisi renang antar pelajar se-Lampung dan antar perkumpulan se-Sumatra Walikota Cup I 2023.
Menurut Sumarwan renang merupakan salah satu cabang olahraga yang diunggulkan dan banyak digandrungi untuk menunjang pendidikan dan karir. Pasalnya, prestasi renang cukup bergensi di tingkat nasional hingga internasional.
“Banyaknya peminat olahraga renang terlihat dari semakin maraknya kejuaraan renang digelar di setiap daerah,” ungkapnya.
Sumarwan berharap kejuaraan ini menjadi ajang pemanasan bagi para atlet renang di Sumatra, terutama Provinsi Lampung untuk menghadapi kompetisi tingkat nasional. Sementara bagi pelajar, diharapkan kejuaraan ini mampu menjaring potensi-potensi atlet masa depan.
