KEMENTERIAN Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi (Kemendikbudristek) fasilitasi keberangkatan para sineas Indonesia ke ajang Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) pada 5-14 Oktober 2022. Kurang lebih 20 sineas yang terdiri dari perwakilan film dan sineas muda yang terjaring dalam Platform Busan akan mengikuti perhelatan film terbesar di BIFF.
Sebagai informasi, pada tahun 2022, terdapat lima film Indonesia yang akan tayang di BIFF yaitu Before, Now, and Then (Nana) yang masuk ke dalam daftar A Window on Asian Cinema; Pengabdi Setan 2: Communion masuk dalam daftar Midnight Passion; Autobiography, Stone Turtle, dan series Teluh Dara yang masuk dalam daftar On Screen. Selain ketiga film tersebut, terdapat satu proyek film Indonesia yang masuk dalam Asian Contents & Film Market yakni film 24 jam bersama Gaspar yang diproduseri Yulia Evina Bhara. Di samping itu, terdapat 10 sineas muda yang berasal dari beberapa daerah di Indonesia yang tahun ini mengikuti Platform Busan.
Direktur Jenderal Kebudayaan, Kemendikbudristek, Hilmar Farid menyatakan kebanggaannya atas terpilihnya beberapa judul film Indonesia yang akan tayang di BIFF 2022. Terlebih, Hilmar melihat angka partisipasi film Indonesia yang cukup besar di BIFF 2022, menunjukkan bahwa kualitas dan daya saing film Indonesia tidak kalah dari Negara-negara lain.
“Saya membayangkan partisipan dari Indonesia akan ramai di BIFF 2022 sehingga kami berencana untuk menyelenggarakan Indonesia Night yang tujuannya selain networking, juga untuk memperkenalkan beberapa program film strategis dari Direktorat Jenderal Kebudayaan antara lain Indonesiana Films dan Kompetisi Produksi Film Pendek, di samping tentu saja memperkenalkan film-film Indonesia yang tayang di BIFF tahun ini,” ungkap Dirjen Hilmar di Jakarta, Jumat (7/10).
Salah satu produser yang filmnya akan tayang di BIFF dan juga proyek filmnya masuk dalam market, Yulian Evina Bhara mengungkapkan kebanggaan akan prestasi film Indonesia di salah satu festival bergengsi ini.
“Tahun ini saya rasa delegasi terbesar sinema Indonesia selama beberapa tahun belakangan di BIFF. Baik film yang terseleksi maupun filmmakers yang terseleksi ke beberapa plaftom seperti Asian Project Market dan Platform Busan. Juga menjadi momen yang penting karena festival kembali diadakan seperti sebelum pandemi terjadi. Harapannya akan tentu saja agar tercipta kolaborasi-kolaborasi baru antara sineas Indonesia dengan pelaku Industri dari berbagai negara dari partisipasi sinema Indonesia di Busan tahun ini,” ungkap Yulian.
Sementara itu, Direktur Perfilman, Musik, dan Media, Ahmad Mahendra menegaskan dukungan pemerintah terhadap keberangkatan perwakilan film serta proyek film ke BIFF 2022 ini sebagai bukti nyata bahwa negara hadir untuk terus memperkuat ekosistem perfilman.
“Fasilitasi seperti ini akan terus kami lakukan untuk setiap film atau sineas yang akan mengikuti festival baik di dalam maupun luar negeri sebagai komitmen Kemendikbudristek untuk memperkuat ekosistem perfilman.
