DIREKTUR Jenderal Pendidikan Vokasi, Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi (Kemendikbudristek), Kiki Yuliati dalam kegiatan Bootcamp Unite for Education (UFE) Sustainability Forum tahun 2023, di Bogor, pada Kamis (26/1), mengatakan pendidikan vokasi yang berfokus pada keahlian terapan dan mengutamakan praktik memiliki peran strategis sebagai penggerak dan akselerator pertumbuhan ekonomi di Indonesia.
Hal ini, kata Dirjen Kiki, dapat dilihat dari peran pendidikan vokasi sebagai penyuplai sumber daya manusia (SDM) yang andal, kompeten, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan dunia usaha dan dunia industri (DUDI).
“Tidak hanya menyiapkan SDM andal untuk bekerja, pendidikan vokasi juga berpotensi meningkatkan sumber daya manusia untuk berwirausaha,” kata Dirjen Kiki
Dirjen Kiki melanjutkan, SDM yang terampil dan kompeten dapat menciptakan tenaga kerja dengan produktivitas tinggi yang sangat dibutuhkan oleh industri.
“Hal tersebut menjadi salah satu kunci penting yang dapat menggerakkan sektor industri untuk menciptakan pertumbuhan ekonomi yang berkualitas. Di sisi lain, kompetensi dan keterampilan tinggi dapat mendorong peningkatan taraf hidup masyarakat itu sendiri,” terangnya.
Masih menurut Kiki, kemampuan pendidikan vokasi menghasilkan SDM yang andal untuk berwirausaha ini tidak hanya akan mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi di masyarakat, tetapi juga mampu menjawab tantangan keterbatasan lapangan kerja yang dihadapi saat ini.
“Dengan pendidikan vokasi, kami tidak hanya menyiapkan SDM yang andal untuk bekerja, tetapi juga untuk berwirausaha dengan menciptakan lapangan kerja baru dan menggerakkan perekonomian di sekitar mereka,” kata Kiki.
Peran konkret lainnya, kata Dirjen Kiki, pendidikan vokasi juga dapat dilihat sebagai fasilitator riset kolaborasi dengan DUDI serta kontributor pendidikan vokasi pada kegiatan research and development (R&D) untuk hilirisasi produk.
Menurutnya, riset-riset terapan yang dihadirkan dari satuan-satuan pendidikan vokasi tidak lagi hanya untuk memenuhi rasa keingintahuan peneliti semata, tetapi diarahkan untuk menjawab persoalan-persoalan yang dihadapi oleh industri dan juga masyarakat, termasuk usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) yang ada di sekitarnya.
“Satuan pendidikan vokasi dapat memanfaatkan kemitraan dengan industri dan UMKM yang ada di sekitar mereka untuk mencari solusi dari persoalan yang dihadapi dalam meningkatkan produktivitasnya,” kata Kiki.
Selain sebagai fasilitator, pendidikan vokasi juga diarahkan sebagai akselerator bisnis pemula/startup ataupun inkubator bisnis melalui teaching factory. Model pembelajaran melalui teaching factory akan menumbuhkembangkan karakter dan etos kerja (disiplin, tanggung jawab, jujur, kerja sama, dan kepemimpinan) yang dibutuhkan DUDI.
Teaching factory juga dapat meningkatkan kualitas hasil pembelajaran yang membekali kemampuan memproduksi barang/jasa.
“Hal tersebut penting sebagai wahana kreativitas pengembangan jiwa entreprenuer, bahkan sebelum mereka lulus sekali pun. Setelah lulus, mereka diharapkan bisa menjadi wirausahawan yang bisa menggerakkan ekonomi di sekitar mereka,” kata Kiki.
Untuk memaksimalkan peran tersebut, Kemendikbudristek terus melakukan berbagai upaya transformasi terhadap pendidikan vokasi dengan mengedepankan tiga nilai yang diusung dalam pendidikan vokasi, yakni nilai pendidikan, nilai ekonomi, dan juga nilai sosial.
Salah satu praktik baik pendidikan vokasi dalam menggerakkan ekonomi masyarakat telah dilakukan oleh siswa jurusan pemasaran SMK Wikrama Bogor yang telah membantu UMKM disekitarnya untuk go digital. Selain itu, para siswa juga membantu memasarkan produk UMKM tersebut mulai fesyen, makanan, kerajinan tangan, dan sebagainya melalui kelas live streaming TikTok Shop.
“Dengan adanya kelas live streaming TikTok Shop ini, anak-anak menjadi terlatih dan terampil dalam memasarkan produk yang nyata. Masyarakat (UMKM) juga terbantu dalam meningkatkan pemasaran produk mereka,” kata Kepala Program Jurusan Pemasaran, SMK Wikrama Bogor, Rina Finanti.
Salah satu UMKM yang merasakan manfaat langsung dari keberadaan Jurusan Pemasaran, SMK Wikrama adalah Amanta Segar. UMKM ini dibantu membuat akun media sosial, membuat konten-konten untuk pemasaran, dan sebagainya.
“Kami merasa sangat terbantu berkat siswa SMK Wikrama Bogor. Kami bisa menjual produk kami secara online dan itu dampaknya luar biasa bagi penjualan produk kami,” kata Annisa Nurul Koesmarini, pemilik UMKM Amanta Segar.(*/Dik/Ded)
