WAKIL Menteri Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif/Wakil Kepala Badan Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif (Wamenparekraf/Kabaparekraf) Angela Tanoesoedibjo mengatakan generasi muda Indonesia harus mampu mengambil peran penting dalam pengembangan ekonomi digital di Indonesia.
Wamenparekraf Angela saat menjadi pembicara kunci dalam Webinar Obrolan UMKM Sehat, Semangat Muda Cuan Lipat Ganda, Minggu (30/10), menjelaskan, generasi muda Indonesia harus mau meningkatkan literasi digitalnya, karena mereka harus mampu mengambil peran penting dalam perkembangan ekonomi yang berbasis digital ke depan.
“Kemampuan dan keunggulan digital natives yang dimiliki generasi muda harus terus diasah agar semakin berdaya saing dalam memasuki era society 5.0,” ujarnya.
Wamenparekraf menjelaskan berdasarkan data BPS, rasio jumlah wirausaha di Indonesia masih sebesar 3,47 persen atau hanya sekitar 9 juta orang dari total jumlah penduduk. Kendati naik dari 2016 yakni 3,1 persen. Angka ini masih rendah dibandingkan dengan Singapura yang mencapai 8,5 persen. Malaysia dan Thailand juga sudah mencapai 4,5 persen.
“Indonesia menargetkan peningkatan persentase mencapai 3,9 – 4 persen pada tahun 2024. Berdasarkan Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEI), saat ini Indonesia masih menempati urutan ke-75 dari 137 negara dengan skor 26. Pemerintah menargetkan untuk naik ke urutan 60,” ujarnya.
Oleh karena itu, kata Wamenparkeraf Angela, Indonesia akan bertumpu pada salah satu kekuatan yang dimiliki yaitu kekuatan pada UMKM.
Berdasarkan data dari Kementerian Koperasi dan UKM, jumlah UMKM saat ini mencapai 64,2 juta dengan kontribusi terhadap PDB sebesar 61,07 persen atau senilai Rp8.573,89 triliun.
“Kontribusi UMKM terhadap perekonomian Indonesia meliputi kemampuan menyerap 97 persen dari total tenaga kerja yang ada. Serta dapat menghimpun sampai 60,4 persen dari total investasi,” katanya.
Saat ini, pemerintah mendorong digitalisasi dari UMKM hingga artisan di Indonesia sehingga terwujud Gerakan Nasional Bangga Buatan Indonesia (Gernas BBI).
Sejak diluncurkan pada 14 Mei 2020 sampai Agustus 2022. Gernas BBI telah mendorong lebih dari 12,1 juta UMKM hingga artisan tambahan untuk onboarding. Sehingga saat ini sudah lebih dari 20,1 juta UMKM yang masuk platform digital.
“Fenomena ini menjelaskan bahwa UMKM merupakan usaha yang produktif untuk mendukung perekonomian secara makro dan mikro di Indonesia, serta mempengaruhi sektor-sektor yang lain agar berkembang. Untuk itu, saya berharap generasi muda di Indonesia dapat melihat ini sebagai peluang sehingga dapat turut mengambil peran dalam pengembangan UMKM,” kata Angela.
Dalam memulai dan mengembangkan bisnis sektor UMKM, tentu dibutuhkan beberapa hal seperti memiliki kemampuan kewirausahaan, metode mengembangkan bisnis melalui tim managemen dan networking, mengelola tim dan partner bisnis, serta cara memaksimalkan peluang.
