Di era modern dengan kecanggihan teknologi seperti sekarang ini, bercocok tanam tak lagi harus pada lahan yang luas. Hidroponik, sistem pertanian yang menggunakan air sebagai pengganti media tanah mulai dilirik dan banyak dikembangkan masyarakat. Tidak hanya oleh petani, khalayak umum pun melihatnya sebagai satu peluang usaha yang menjanjikan.
Seperti yang dilakukan oleh seorang Komisioner KPU Lampung Tengah Adi Hasan Basri (38). Saat ditemui Travel2Lampung, Sabtu (27/2), ia mengaku tidak sengaja terjun ke pertanian hidroponik. Awalnya hanya untuk mengisi kegiatan luangnya saja.
“Iseng-iseng saat awal pandemi. Saya coba nonton tutorial youtube. Waktu itu hanya berawal dari 10 paralon saya coba. Ternyata alhamdulillah. Karena rumah kebetulan dekat dengan pasar, jadi hasilnya langsung bisa dijual. Akhirnya kita nambah lagi nambah lagi untuk memperbanyak hidroponiknya. Jadi memang dampak dari adanya covid ini. Alhamdulillah artinya bukan karena ada covidnya, ya. Jadi, dengan adanya covid ini, memaksa kita untuk berfikir lebih keras lagi supaya memang ada aktifitas yang menghasilkan,” terang Adi.
Pria yang hobi memancing ini menjelaskan bahwa dengan memanfaatkan pekarangan rumah, segala kebutuhan bisa tercukupi. Kita juga bisa melakukan aktifitas yang produktif.
“Jadi, artinya bukan meninggalkan pekerjaan atau aktifitas diluar. Namun memanfaatkan pekarangan rumah lah. Karena hidroponik kan gak ribet, habis panen terus bisa ditanami lagi. Paling bersihin setengah jam. Setelah itu dikeringkan sebentar, sudah bisa ditanam lagi. Tidak harus nyangkul-nyangkul dan lain sebagainya,” tambah Adi lagi.
Jenis tanaman yang sudah pernah Ia tanam dan kembangkan hampir sama dengan budidaya hidroponik pada umumnya. Pakcoy, caisin, dan sledri adalah jenis tanaman unggulan yang sudah menghasilkan pundi-pundi tambahan baginya.
Dalam budidaya tanaman pasti ada kendala pada setiap prosesnya. Pria yang akrab disapa Mas Adi ini menerangkan bahwa sebenarnya dari awal tahapan semai hingga penanaman tidak ada kendala. Yang menjadi tantangan adalah mengenai nutrisi.
Pada budidaya hidroponik hal ini sangatlah penting. Harga untuk setiap nutrisi ini pun cukup tinggi.
“Yang menjadi tantangan buat kita itu nutrisi. Untuk hidroponik ini kan cost-nya cukup tinggi. Makanya saya belajar dan bisa meracik sendiri. Kalau saya bandingkan beli jadi, itu bisa lebih irit 50 persenan lah. Jadi kita beli bahan dari produk dari salah satu perusahaan, terus saya racik sendiri. Selain itu karena daerah Seputih Banyak ini masih bisa dikatakan kampung, ya kita pun jualnya masih di pasar tradisional. Sebenarnya market untuk hidroponik ini kan sudah di supermarket. Karena memang hidroponik ini tanaman sehat yang tidak memakai pestisida,” lanjutnya dengan antusias.
“Sekarang ini, saya bisa dengan paralon sekitar 40 pcs, saya bisa menghasilkan Rp400 ribu per setengah bulannya. Artinya modal untuk beli paralon ini 2 sampai 3 kali panen sudah bisa balik modal. Jadi untuk kedepanya, ya kita pengenya nambah lagi. Diperbanyak unit paralon dan instalasi hidroponik yang ada,” pungkasnya di akhir wawancata.(Rid/E1)
